What did Condé Nast Travelers choose as their favorite hotels, resorts, and more in 2018?
Hotels. Condé Nast Travelers voted Hilton Hawaiian Village as their favorite hotel of the year. The reason? The resort offers a variety of activities, such as swimming with dolphins and surfing.
Resorts. Condé Nast Travelers also favored resorts in the Caribbean, such as The Ritz-Carlton Caravelle Beach, which offers an all-inclusive experience with plenty of activities to do, including golf and tennis.
Food. Condé Nast Travelers also voted Blue Bottle Coffee as their favorite restaurant this year. They love the coffee shop’s inventive menu and cozy atmosphere.
What makes a great travel destination?
Condé Nast Travelers have compiled a list of their favorite places to visit, with a few caveats.
“The best travel destinations are the places that make you feel like you’re part of the local community,” said junior editor Mallory Ortberg. “That means small villages and towns, not theme parks and bustling metropolises.”
Ortberg’s top picks for the perfect travel destination? Iceland, Uruguay, Venice, and Mendoza, Argentina. “These places have something for everyone,” she said. “Iceland is a geothermal wonderland with awe-inspiring scenery; Uruguay is known for its world-class wine; Venice has some of the most gorgeous canals in the world, and Mendoza is an utterly charming cowboy town.”
